Wipro interview questions and answers: the NTH test and interview rounds
By Manideep · Updated 21 October 2026 · 5 min read
Wipro interview questions follow its online test, which for freshers is usually the Elite National Talent Hunt (NTH). The test covers aptitude, reasoning and verbal ability, a short essay and a coding section; candidates who pass then face a technical interview on programming, databases and their project, and an HR interview on communication, relocation and why Wipro. Strong coding in the test is widely reported to open a higher-level role.
This guide covers each section of the test, the interview questions with sample answers, and how to prepare. Wipro changes its process between hiring seasons, so check your invitation and Wipro's official careers pages for the current version.
The Wipro hiring process at a glance
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Online assessment | Aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability, a written essay and a coding section, in one sitting. |
| Group discussion (some drives) | Not part of every drive; some campuses add a short discussion or a just-a-minute round. |
| Technical interview | Programming basics, data structures, databases, your project and the technologies on your resume. |
| HR interview | Background, communication, relocation, documents and joining. |
Wipro also runs a separate work-integrated learning programme for graduates from other streams, with its own eligibility and process. If you are not from an engineering background, check whether that route applies to you.
The Wipro Elite NTH online test
- Quantitative aptitude: percentages, ratios, time and work, probability and data interpretation.
- Logical reasoning: series, arrangements, coding and decoding, and puzzles.
- Verbal ability: grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension.
- Essay writing: one assigned topic, written in a short fixed time. Recent candidates report topics such as technology in daily life, remote work and leadership.
- Coding: commonly two problems at easy to medium difficulty, in C, C++, Java or Python.
The essay is what makes Wipro's test different from most. It is marked on clarity, grammar and structure, not length. A good plan: one sentence that states your view, two short paragraphs that each give one reason with an example, and a one-line conclusion. Leave a minute to read it back for errors.
Work from home should continue, but as a choice rather than a rule.
For many people it saves hours of travel every week, and that time often goes back into focused work. During the pandemic, many teams found they could deliver just as well from home, which showed that presence in an office is not the same as productivity.
At the same time, new joiners learn faster when they can watch experienced colleagues and ask quick questions, and some work, such as hardware testing, needs people on site. A mix of office days for collaboration and home days for focused work serves both needs.
The best approach is to let teams decide what their work needs, instead of one policy for everyone.
Wipro technical interview questions with answers
Explain your final-year project.
Cover the problem, your part, the technology, a difficulty and the result. Expect questions on anything you mention, so leave out tools you cannot discuss.
What is the difference between C and C++?
C is procedural; C++ adds object-oriented features such as classes, inheritance and polymorphism, plus function overloading, references and the Standard Template Library. C++ is largely compatible with C code.
What is a pointer?
A variable that stores the memory address of another variable. Pointers allow dynamic memory allocation and efficient passing of large data to functions. Mention null pointers and why dereferencing one causes a crash.
What is the difference between DELETE, TRUNCATE and DROP?
DELETE removes chosen rows and can be rolled back in a transaction. TRUNCATE removes all rows quickly and resets the table, generally without logging each row. DROP removes the table itself, structure and all.
What is inheritance? What are its types?
A class acquiring the properties and methods of another. Types include single, multilevel, hierarchical and multiple inheritance; Java supports multiple inheritance only through interfaces, while C++ supports it with classes.
Write a program to find the factorial of a number, or to print the Fibonacci series.
Give both the iterative and recursive versions if asked, and mention that the recursive Fibonacci is exponential without memoisation, while the iterative one is O(n).
What is the software development life cycle?
The stages a project moves through: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance. Mention a model you know, such as waterfall or agile, and how they differ.
For coding rounds, explain your approach before you code and state the complexity at the end. Our AI coding interview assistant page shows how ClearMyRound helps during live coding.
Wipro HR interview questions with answers
Tell me about yourself.
One minute: your degree, one project or internship that matters, and why Wipro. See our guide to tell me about yourself.
Why Wipro?
Mention something specific, such as its training for new joiners or its work in an area you care about. Sample: "Wipro works with clients across many industries, and its training for freshers means I can build a strong base before joining a project."
Are you willing to relocate?
Projects can be in any of Wipro's locations. Answer honestly, and clearly if yes.
Where do you see yourself in three or five years?
Growth inside the role: strong in a technology, trusted with a module. See our guide to where do you see yourself in 5 years.
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
One strength with proof, one real weakness with what you are doing about it. Our HR interview questions guide has model answers.
Selected candidates are often asked for documents at the HR stage: academic certificates and mark sheets, photo ID and, where relevant, proof that any backlogs are cleared. Keep them ready.
How to prepare for a Wipro interview
- Take timed aptitude, reasoning and verbal tests, two or three a week.
- Write three or four practice essays against a timer on everyday technology and workplace topics.
- Solve easy and medium coding problems on arrays, strings and numbers, in one language.
- Revise C or Java basics, OOP, DBMS and SQL, and the software development life cycle.
- Prepare your project and the HR answers above, out loud.
Before the interview, run a full practice round with someone who asks follow-up questions, or an AI mock interview set up with your resume and the Wipro job description.

Frequently asked questions
How many rounds are there in the Wipro interview?
Usually an online assessment, then a technical interview and an HR interview. Some campus drives add a short group discussion.

How do I write the essay in the Wipro test?
State your view in one sentence, give two short paragraphs with one reason and example each, and end with a one-line conclusion. Clarity and correct grammar matter more than length.
Is there negative marking in the Wipro test?
